Box Critters Testing Idea of Item Rarity

RocketSnail has announced on the Official Box Critters discord that he’s testing the idea of item rarity. This is what he had to say:

TESTING: I am testing the idea of item rarity. Currently I am using this to help balance coin cost and when an item may return in the shop or TBT

Right now there are common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary. Then secret and code. Secret are items hidden in the world. Code are items that use a code to unlock.

Currently common may return every 90 days. Uncommon may return every 180 days. Rare items may return every 270 days. Note. This does not mean an item “will” return every 90 days. This just means it “may” return. It’s all math. There are only 52 weeks a year.

Epic and legendary. Have a near zero chance of returning. Might return for very very very special events.

This sounds great, at the moment the only legendary items are the 1st Anniversary Party Cake items and the Blue Toque.
