RocketSnail has done another live stream! RocketSnail answered many questions and here are some highlights:

The questions I asked:

What do you want to achieve next for Box Critters?

“Really wanna get minigames in there. Tryna get the card game and the minigames in. Cuz we gotta finish that game loop so you guys can start earning coins. That would be really good.”

Will the jungle be out for Halloween? – If so will it be decorated for Halloween?

“Oh good question, I’m going to ask the guys on Monday for that one. I haven’t thought about that. We’re planning to get the jungle out really soon. It looks really good. Should be soon. Good question, actually we had a meeting the other day, decorating everything we got for Halloween and launching the jungle. We haven’t said if we are decorating the jungle for Halloween. You make a new room and you decorate it, that means you guys never saw the new room.. I don’t know”.

Will you bring back the snail figurines?

I am working on an idea like that. Probably thinking about that next year or so.

Will there be pets?	Shhh a secret – pets will be apart of the beta party.
Will we get higher resolution versions of the rooms?	Yeah, eventually. Not today. Uhm, right now it’s free, so… that’s what it is, that’s what you get. laughs Um, it’s just a matter of bandwidth and size. Doing a lot of testing and stuff, so just wanting to make sure it’s working quickly. And at the end of the day, the only version I’m really working on is the mobile version, even if it’s a browser, I’m working on the mobile version, and it needs to be smaller. I know if I can get it working on mobile, then, uh, Desktop is just higher resolution, that part I already know I can solve, so, pretty easy.
Any thoughts on a Box Critters App?	“Yup. Working on one. Busy working on it. Uh – testing right now in the browser. Using some HTML5 native stuff. Actually playing around with the new “capacitor”. So it’s pretty cool. It allows you to use JS/HTML5 directly to native apps for Apple and Google.”
Will there be a penguin critter in the game at some point?	“Come on guys, of course there will be. Laughs Just not today. That’s all. But yes, there will eventually be a Penguin Critter. But let’s let the Hamsters and Raccoons and everybody else have some fun first.”
Is it possible to become a Box Critters Translator in another language?	“Probably in the future. I was thinking actually setting up an AirTable with all the text in the game and just letting people contribute to the translations.”
So, a long time ago the doctor’s shoes had shown up on AirTable and now we’ve seen a increase in listed shoe items. Do you have a specific release date ?	“Nope. So far, the shoe items are currently in the database. They are created, they are sprites, and they don’t work on your feet. You can get them in your inventory and everything, but they just don’t work on your feet. So I gotta solve that problem. But the question is, what do I work on first. Do I get the card game done, or do I get shoes working. Thing is, we know that items work, so that’s just making more items, and you’re not actually making more “game”. So my goal is to make more “game”. So my focus is to getting the card game done. But if I can get the boots done in time, sure.”
​Why is Box Critters for children?	“I’ve never really actually said that. It’s gonna be safe for children, but it’s for anybody who wants to play it. It’s just gonna have a “child”-attitude, it’s gonna focus on imagination stuff. Kind of like a Pixar movie. It’s not really for kids – it’s safe for kids to watch a Pixar movie, but anyone can watch it. I like “Cars”. Cars is awesome. Lightning McQueen and stuff. It’s great.”
​Are you still planning on giving out items with codes and Youtubers/Bloggers/Content Creators or is the codes era over already?	“No. It’s not over. The plan is actually to get to – well, to get minigames done first. But then, the plan is to get to some kind of profile system so that you can follow a YouTuber or a blogger, and that person can give away keycodes and stuff, and continue to give away items. It’s important to the marketing. We wanna make sure we can grow the world. Right now the problem we have with items is – we keep giving codes to the same YouTubers and sites, which is great – but statistically, there’s no new users. So – they keep giving away a new item to all the same people. The channel grows, but overall, in the Box Critters community, there’s no growth. For that, we need to be finding new YouTubers to bring more audience.”
When will the Space Event end?	“I was thinking next week. Cuz – we will just return you to the regular village. And lots of people haven’t seen it yet, they’re coming back from holidays.”
Any ETA on Critter Climb?	“I don’t know. We’re partnering with many people to make our minigames, so they are in different timelines. Although – it’s looking pretty good! The Twins have done the art, the programmers – maybeeee 3/4 of the way done? So we gotta get to the testing still.”
Does Box Critters have an antagonist?	Yes.
